300ggreen or brown lentils
200gsmoked ham hock or bacon
2carrots, diced
2 stalkscelery, diced
1large onion, diced
2 clovesgarlic
1.5Lpork or chicken stock
1 tspdried marjoram
2 tbspwhite wine vinegar
salt and pepperto taste
Instructions

Soak lentils in cold water 1 hour. Drain.

Fry bacon with onion, carrot and celery 8 minutes.

Add garlic, lentils, stock and marjoram. Bring to boil.

Simmer 45 minutes until lentils are tender.

Add vinegar, season.

Remove ham hock, shred meat and return to pot.
