Ingredients
500gdried navy or haricot beans, soaked overnight
200gbacon lardons or pancetta
1large onion, diced
4 tbspmolasses or dark treacle
3 tbspbrown sugar
2 tbspyellow mustard
2 tbspketchup
1 tbspWorcestershire sauce
500mlchicken stock
1 tspsmoked paprika
Instructions

Drain soaked beans, boil in fresh water 30 minutes until starting to soften.

Fry bacon until starting to crisp, add onion and cook until soft.

Mix molasses, sugar, mustard, ketchup, Worcestershire and paprika.

Combine beans, bacon mixture and sauce in a casserole dish.

Add stock to just cover.

Cover and bake at 150C for 4 hours.

Uncover and bake 1 more hour until thick and sticky.

Season generously and serve with cornbread.
