4 filletsthick white fish (cod or haddock)
batter: 1 cup flour, 1 cup cold beer, pinch salt, ½ tsp baking powder
chips: 4 large potatoes, cut into thick chips
mushy peas: 2 cups frozen peas, butter, mint, salt
malt vinegar, lemon, tartar sauceto serve
Instructions

Fry chips twice — once at 130°C until cooked, then at 190°C until golden.

Make batter: mix flour, beer, salt, and baking powder — lumpy is fine.

Dip fish in batter; fry at 190°C for 4-5 min until golden and crispy.
