Ingredients
1kgbone-in lamb shoulder or neck, in large pieces
1large white cabbage, cut in thick wedges
2 tbspwhole black peppercorns
1 tspsalt

Instructions

Layer lamb and cabbage alternately in a heavy pot, seasoning each layer.

Add peppercorns and enough water to just cover.

Bring to a boil, skim well.

Simmer very low for 2–2.5 hours until lamb is completely tender.

Serve in deep bowls with boiled potatoes and rye bread.
