
Slow-Roasted Firm Tofu Fried Rice
A slow-roasted Asian-style tofu fried rice with bean sprouts, garlic and shiitake mushrooms, finished with sesame oil, soy sauce and five spice, served over sticky rice.

Press the tofu between paper towels to remove excess moisture, then cube it, season, and sear over medium-high heat until well browned, about 7 minutes.
Add the bean sprouts, garlic and shiitake mushrooms, cooking until softened, about 7 minutes.
Stir in the sesame oil, soy sauce and five spice for 4 minutes.
Cook the sticky rice separately and fluff with a fork.
Let the tofu simmer for about 19 minutes so the flavors meld.
Taste and adjust the seasoning.
Serve hot over the sticky rice, garnished with fresh herbs.
