2 1/4 tspdried yeast
1 cupwarm water
2 tbspsugar
1/2 cupwarm milk
2 tbspvegetable oil
1 tspvanilla extract
3 cupsplain flour

Instructions

Dissolve yeast in warm water with sugar. Rest 5 minutes until foamy.

Add milk, oil and vanilla. Stir in flour to a smooth dough. Knead 8 minutes. Rest 1 hour.

Pull dough pieces and stretch into oval shapes.

Deep-fry in batches at 180°C for 2 minutes per side until golden.

Top immediately with cinnamon sugar and a squeeze of lemon.
