Ingredients

500gfirm tofu
2ginger
1 cupscallions
1garlic
300gjasmine rice
1 tbsptamari
1 tbspfive spice
2 tbspsesame oil
2 tspShaoxing wine
2 tbspolive oil
to tastesalt and black pepper

Instructions

Press the tofu between paper towels to remove excess moisture, then cube it, season, and stir-fry over medium-high heat until well browned, about 6 minutes.

Add the ginger, scallions and garlic, cooking until fragrant, about 7 minutes.

Stir in the tamari, five spice, sesame oil and Shaoxing wine for 2 minutes.

Cook the jasmine rice separately and fluff with a fork.

Let the tofu simmer for about 9 minutes so the flavors meld.

Taste and adjust the seasoning.

Serve hot over the jasmine rice, garnished with fresh herbs.
