400gmasa harina
350mlwarm water
1 tspsalt
300grefried beans
200gsalsa roja
100gqueso fresco, crumbled
shredded lettuce and sour creamto serve
3 tbspvegetable oil
Instructions

Mix masa harina, water and salt into a smooth dough.

Divide into 10 balls, press each into a thick oval about 1.5cm thick.

Cook on a dry comal 4 minutes each side until cooked through and slightly puffed.

Fry in oil briefly until golden on each side.

While hot, use a knife to split each gordita in half like a pita.

Fill with warm refried beans.

Add salsa, queso fresco, lettuce and sour cream.
