A deep-fried Australian snack inspired by Chinese spring rolls — filled with cabbage and beef. Sealing the rolled wrapper with beaten egg keeps it from unravelling in the hot oil during the long fry.

200gbeef mince
2 cupsgreen cabbage, finely shredded
1 cupcelery, diced
1large carrot, grated
1onion, diced
1 tspWorcestershire sauce
salt and pepperto taste
8egg roll wrappers
1egg, beaten

Instructions

Mix beef, cabbage, celery, carrot, onion and Worcestershire. Season.

Place a generous amount of filling on each wrapper.

Roll up tightly, folding in the sides, and seal with beaten egg.

Deep-fry at 180°C for 8-10 minutes until deep golden.

Drain and serve with tomato sauce.
