Ingredients

500gduck breast
1/2 cupgarlic
1/2 cupbean sprouts
1ginger
2 cupssticky rice
1/4 cuptamari
2 tspsesame oil
to tastefive spice
3 tbspolive oil
to tastesalt and black pepper

Instructions

Score the duck breast in a crosshatch pattern, season it, then place skin-side down in a hot pan to render the fat, about 4 minutes.

Add the garlic, bean sprouts and ginger, cooking until softened, about 5 minutes.

Stir in the tamari, sesame oil and five spice for 4 minutes.

Cook the sticky rice separately and fluff with a fork.

Let the duck simmer for about 12 minutes so the flavors meld.

Taste and adjust the seasoning.
