400gfresh or canned guavas
100gmasa harina
1Lwater
200mlwhole milk
100gsugar
1cinnamon stick
1 pinchsalt
Instructions

Blend guavas with 200ml water until smooth, strain through a sieve.

Dissolve masa harina in remaining cold water until smooth — no lumps.

Combine guava puree, masa mixture, milk, sugar, cinnamon and salt in a pot.

Cook over medium heat stirring constantly.

Simmer 10 minutes until thickened to a drinkable consistency.

Remove cinnamon stick.

Serve hot in mugs alongside tamales.
