Ingredients

2 cupsplain flour
1 tspbaking powder
1 tspbicarbonate of soda
1 tspmixed spice
2 tspground ginger
1/2 tspcinnamon
100gcold butter, cubed
1/2 cupcaster sugar
3 tbspgolden syrup

Instructions

Mix flour, baking powder, bicarb and spices. Rub in butter.

Stir in sugar.

Warm golden syrup and add to mixture. Bring together to a firm dough.

Roll small balls and place on trays.

Bake at 175°C for 15-20 minutes. They will spread and crack. Cool on tray.
